Celebrate reading at the Coos Bay Public Library’s annual Read Across America event. Thursday, March 14 from 5:00-6:30pm the Coos Bay Public Library is hosting a party in honor of reading with free books, cupcakes and crafts. Guest readers from the community will share books and local organizations will provide hands-on crafts and games. The event is geared towards kids and families 18 and under; participants under the age of 18 will receive a free book as part of the festivities. Participating community groups include the Coos Bay Fire Department, SMART Reading, Washed Ashore, the Marshfield High School Latin-X Club, the Marshfield High School Key Club, the Marshfield Honor Society, the Marshfield Cheer Squad, the Marshfield High School Z-Club, and CARE Connections Child Care Resource & Referral. Groups will provide a variety of hands-on activities and crafts that support reading.
