A 2.8-magnitude earthquake was recorded near the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast Tuesday, Oct. 17. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west of Ferndale, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. A second quake was also recorded in the area, but on land, a 2.8-magnitude east of Petrolia, CA.
