A 4.1-magnitude earthquake was recorded Thursday, Aug. 17, 2023 at the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located eat of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
