High school football Friday, Oct. 13, 2023 – 4A – North Bend hosts Hidden Valley, 7 p.m., Vic Adams Field. Marshfield travels to Henley, Klamath Falls, 7 p.m. 3A – St. Mary’s Medford at Brookings-Harbor, So. Umpqua at Coquille and Banks at Siuslaw. 2A – Rogue River at Gold Beach and Oakland at Bandon/Pacific. All at 7 p.m. 1A6 – Riddle at Powers, 3 p.m.

In 3A volleyball Thursday night, Coquille beat visiting Brookings-Harbor 3-0. In 2A, Bandon won at Illinois Valley 3-1 and Reedsport fell at Waldport 3-0. In 1A, Myrtle Pt. won at Yoncalla 3-0, Pacific fell at North Douglas 3-0, and Powers downed visiting Elkton 3-2. Marshfield will host its own volleyball tournament Saturday at the Pirate Palace, Coos Bay. A JV tournament will also take place at North Bend. Local teams participating in the varsity tournament include: North Bend, Siuslaw & Coquille. Others: The Dalles, Henley, Douglas, Mazama, Churchill, Cottage Grove, La Pine, Tillamook, Hidden Valley, Junction City, Del Norte, & Klamath Union. Also Saturday, 1A – Pacific at Milo Adventist Academy, 7p. 2A – Oakridge at Bandon, noon; Lowell at Gold Beach, 1:30p; Oakridge at Gold Beach, 3p. Toledo at Reedsport, 4:30p; Monroe at Reedsport, 4:30p; Lowell at Bandon, 4:30p.

In girls’ soccer Thursday, North Bend beat visiting Cottage Grove 1-0 at Vic Adams Field. No boy’s score available between the Bulldogs and Lions. In 3A/2A/1A – Siuslaw fell at Pleasant Hill 8-0. In 3A/2A/1A boys’ soccer – Coquille/Myrtle Pt. lost at Pacific/Bandon 2-1, Brookings-Harbor won at Lost River/Bonanza 2-0, and Siuslaw/Mapleton beat visiting Santiam Christian 3-2. Boys’ soccer Friday: 3A/2A/1A – Gold Beach at Sutherlin, 2p; Saturday girls’ soccer: Coquille/Myrtle Pt. at Brookings-Harbor, 1p.
