OSAA Dance Championships
Marshfield’s dance team “The Upbeats” finished ninth at the OSAA State Dance Competition Saturday at the Salem Pavilion in the “Traditional” category won by Valley Catholic, Beaverton. The Upbeats were sixth in “Pom,” won by Parkrose.

Prep softball Friday, March 15: 4A – Marshfield’s softball team’s first day in the Klamath Basin was successful Friday as the Lady Pirates swept two non-league games from Mazama, 16-6 (6) and 17-0 (3) at Henley HS. North Bend stayed home and beat visiting Gladstone 16-6. 3A – Coquille lost at Siuslaw 21-14. 2A/1A – Days Ck. lost at Bandon/Pacific 14-13 and then lost at Myrtle Pt. 18-14. On Saturday – 4A – Marshfield lost at Henley 13-12 (8). 2A/1A – Reedsport got swept at Oakland, 18-3 & 13-8.

Prep baseball games for Friday, March 15: 4A – Marshfield swept two non-league games from visiting Mazama, 11-1 (6) & 3-2 (8). North Bend lost at home to Douglas 12-1 (5). 3A – Siuslaw/Mapleton beat visiting Coquille 23-1. Brookings-Harbor lost at Pleasant Hill 7-3. 2A/1A – Bandon/Pacific split at Illinois Valley winning the first game 9-4, but dropping the second game 4-3. On Saturday – 4A – Marshfield won at Sweet Home 6-1. 2A/1A – Reedsport was swept at Oakland 9-4 & 8-3.
