WHAT: The North Bend Public Library will host a Poetry Concert with Thomas Mitchell and Richard Robbins. Thomas Mitchell is the author of Where We Arrive (Lost Horse Press) and two previous books of poetry, The Way Summer Ends and Caribou. He studied at California State University Sacramento with Dennis Schmitz, where he received his Master’s in English, Creative Writing. He also earned an MFA from the University of Montana, where he worked with Richard Hugo and Madeline De Frees. His newest book, Crow Genesis, is out now. Richard Robbins is the author of several collections of poetry, including Body Turn to Rain: New & Selected Poems (Lynx House Press, 2017), Other Americas (Blueroad Press, 2010), and Radioactive City (Bellday Books, 2009). Robbins has received awards or residencies from the National Endowment of the Arts, The Poetry Society of America, the Anderson Center, Willapa Bay AiR, and the Hawthornden Castle International Retreat for Writers. His current collection, The Oratory of All Souls, is available now. WHEN: This program is on Saturday, June 29 at 1:00 PM. WHERE: In the Meeting Room of the North Bend Public Library.
