ODFW release – SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Conservation and Recreation Fund’s request for grant proposals for the Spring 2024 cycle will close on March 26, 2024. Interested applicants should visit the OCRF grants webpage at: https://www.dfw.state.or.us/conservationstrategy/OCRF/grants.asp The OCRF prioritizes projects that: Align with the Oregon Conservation Strategy, safeguarding our diverse fish and wildlife before threats become critical. Promote outdoor equity, ensuring everyone has access to the health benefits and joy of nature. Address the impacts of drought, protecting vital habitats and ensuring resilient wildlife populations. Create new recreational opportunities, connecting people with the outdoors and fostering appreciation for our natural world. OCRF has supported 140 projects since it was formed in early 2020 and more than $5 million has been awarded statewide with an average of $35,000 per project. OCRF is a way for Oregonians to support projects that protect and enhance species and habitats identified in the Oregon Conservation Strategy and to create new opportunities for wildlife watching, urban conservation, community science, and other wildlife-associated recreation.
