NBPD release – Proactive Traffic Enforcement Stop Results in Arrest of 64-Year-Old Coos Bay Resident. On January 24th, 2024, at 9:52 pm, officers from the North Bend Police Department conducted a traffic stop near Inland Drive. During the stop, officers learned that the driver, Mr. Mark Knigge, 64, of Coos Bay, had two outstanding misdemeanor warrants from Coos and Curry County. Upon placing Mr. Knigge into custody, officers discovered a stolen firearm along with trafficking levels of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and heroin. Packaging materials and $1,200 cash were also seized. Mr. Knigge was transported to Coos County Jail on the outstanding warrants in addition to charges of: – Driving While Suspended (Misdemeanor); – Possession of a Controlled Substance – Methamphetamine; – Possession of a Controlled Substance – Fentanyl; – Felon in Possession of a Firearm; – Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapons.
