Line steps down at Sheldon, Dec. 19

Former Marshfield football coach Josh Line has stepped down after eight seasons at Sheldon of Eugene. The always energetic coach followed another coach with ties to Marshfield, Lane Johnson. Lane Johnson won a state championship with Sheldon in 2012 and his brother Marty, the prior head Irish coach, won championships in 2002, ’07, & ’09. Line took Sheldon to the finals twice falling both times in 2018 & ’22. He was 60-25 overall as head coach. According to an article in OSAA.org, Line wants to spend time watching his fourth child in athletics her senior year. He coached his two sons in football. Line also left the door open to another coaching opportunity in the future.
