City of North Bend release – ES&A Sign & Awning has been onsite beginning Tuesday morning to begin their two-day installation of the colossal neon sign on the historic Liberty Theatre on Sherman Ave. The neon sign once lit up downtown North Bend until it was dismantled in the 1950s. Kyle Electric, Inc., installed the main electrical conduit for the new signage. While the theatre staff will be testing the lighting and sequencing during installation, the sign will otherwise remain dark until the opening night of “Other Desert Cities” on Friday, January 19, 2023. The City of North Bend secured a $174,805 Oregon Main Revitalization Street Grant via Oregon Heritage to replace the neon blade sign, which required a 30 percent match from the Theatre – Home of Little Theatre on the Bay.
