On Wednesday, December 13, at approximately 1:37 a.m., the Oregon State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Highway 126E near milepost 35, in Lane County. The preliminary investigation indicated a Saturn sedan, operated by Delbert Hughes Jr. (57) of McKenzie Bridge, was traveling eastbound when it left the roadway for unknown reasons and struck a telephone pole. Hughes Jr. was declared deceased at the scene. The highway was impacted for approximately one hour during the on-scene investigation. OSP was assisted by Lane County Medical Examiner’s Office and ODOT.
