Former Beaver wins Award, June 19

OSU release – CORVALLIS, Ore. – Maureen Tremblay, a former cross country and track and field student-athlete at Oregon State, has been recognized with the Breaking Barriers in Athletics Award. Tremblay, an Assistant Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Development at OSU, earned the honor as part of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women (PCOSW). She’s the fifth recipient all-time, following Colleen Bee (2023), Deb Graff (2022), Tanya Chaplin (2020) and Marianne Vydra (2018). The award recognizes a member of the OSU athletic community whose contributions actively create and encourage gender equity in sports. Tremblay, who returned to Oregon State in January 2023, oversees the strategic vision for student-athlete development programs and focus on the holistic support of all student-athletes, from transition into college to graduation. With the help of the student-athlete development unit, this support prioritizes professional, leadership, and personal development, as well as community service and engagement. Prior to her return to OSU, Tremblay was the Associate Athletics Director/Chief of Staff for Georgia Tech Athletics. In this role, she provided oversight to strategic initiatives outlined by the director of athletics, including leading the implementation and monitoring the advancement the athletics strategic plan. Tremblay previous roles at Georgia Tech included Coordinator for the Total Person Program from 2017- 2019, and Director of Executive Operations from 2019- 2020, where she managed the day-to-day operations of the executive leadership team and director of athletics. She has also worked as a high school educator and coach at Capital High School in Helena, Montana (2020-2022) and in student-athlete development at Clemson (2016-2017).
