ODOT release – ODOT: SW Oregon: With rain continuing through this week, expect high water and flooding on roads in SW Oregon. Travelers may see detours and temporary closures in trouble spots, especially along the coast and through the Coast Range. If you must travel, give yourself extra time and be prepared for delays. Watch your speed and turn on your headlights to improve visibility. Watch out for highway crews and emergency responders. Check TripCheck.com for road conditions. Highways along the coast and through the coast range are getting heavy rainfall. Since Tuesday morning there have been closures and detours in these high-water areas: * U.S. 101 between Seaside and the junction with U.S. 26 may remain closed — no local detour is available. We will monitor the level 24/7 and open this section when possible — first to high-clearance vehicles such as commercial trucks, then, once the water has receded enough, to other vehicles. * U.S. 101 also may be closed with detours or lane closures with flaggers in Tillamook and near Neskowin. * OR 6 may be closed in Tillamook with a detour.
