NBPD release – Get ready, because the North Bend Police Department is stepping up speed enforcement patrols throughout March. Thanks to a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Oregon Department of Transportation, we’re boosting our efforts to keep our roads safe. Our increased police presence aims to crack down on speeding, reckless driving, and crosswalk violations. Whether you’re behind the wheel or walking, it’s essential to follow the rules of the road and prioritize safety. Drivers and pedestrians, beware: NBPD’s patrol division will be out in force this month. We’ll be conducting intensive, high-visibility enforcement to ensure everyone’s safety on our streets. Did you know? According to Impact Oregon, speeding fatalities surged by 17 percent from 2019 to 2020, with another estimated 5 percent increase from 2020 to 2021. Let’s work together to reverse this trend and make our roads safer for everyone. Remember, speed limits and traffic laws are in place for a reason – to protect lives. Let’s all do our part to keep North Bend streets safe for everyone.
