Hindering Prosecution
CCSO release – Date / Time: May 29th, 2024, 10:30 a.m.; Case Number(s): N/a; Classification: Doud – Hindering Prosecution / Peabody – Warrant arrest; Location: Shinglehouse Road; Suspect(s): Martin A. Doud (39) / Caitlin M. Peabody (34). Male and female arrested after report of wanted subject seen on Shinglehouse Road. On May 29th, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a report of an individual with an outstanding warrant for her arrest on Shinglehouse Road, near Coos Bay. Before the Deputies arrived on the scene, dispatch confirmed the warrant. Deputy S. Starr responded, located the woman identified as Caitlin M. Peabody (34), and observed her run into a trailer, closing the door behind her. The owner of the trailer, Martin A. Doud (39), responded to the trailer and searched the inside for Ms. Peabody two times. The owner told the deputies on the scene that Ms. Peabody was not inside. During the application for a search warrant, Ms. Peabody exited the trailer and turned herself in to Deputies on the scene. Ms. Peabody was arrested on an outstanding warrant for her arrest. Additionally, Martin A. Doud (39) was arrested on the charge of Hindering Prosecution. Ms. Peabody and Mr. Doud were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”

Warrant Arrest
CCSO release – Date / Time: May 29th, 2024, 7:14 a.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00012280; Classification: Warrant Arrest; Location: Lone Pine Lane; Suspect(s): Alyssa J. Bettis (33). Female with outstanding warrant arrested on traffic stop in the Fairview area. On May 29th, 2024, at 7:14 a.m. Deputy Z. Smith was conducting routine patrols in the Fairview area when he observed a Tan Ford F-250, which had committed a traffic violation near the 4-corners intersection.  Deputy Z. Smith stopped the vehicle and learned that a passenger in it was Alyssa J. Bettis (33). The Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center advised that Ms. Bettis had an active warrant for her arrest out of Marion County. The warrant was confirmed, and Ms. Bettis was placed under arrest. Ms. Bettis was transported to the Coos County Jail for her active warrant, which she booked and lodged.

Warrant Arrest
CCSO release – Date / Time: May 28th, 2024, 10:00 a.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00011869; Classification: Warrant Arrest; Location: Lone Pine Lane; Suspect(s): Joshua D. Harper (35). Male arrested at illegal camp after having an outstanding warrant for his arrest. On 05/28/2024, Deputy J. Lee from the Sheriff’s Office Timber Division, along with Deputy Z. Smith, were actively investigating a complaint of a possible illegal campsite in the Fairview area on private property near Lone Pine Ln at milepost 7. After further investigation, Deputies located the campsite and contacted Joshua D. Harper (35). The Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center advised Deputies that Mr. Harper had an active/confirmed warrant for his arrest by the Parole Board for Parole Violation. Mr. Harper was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail without incident. “Police action is not indicative of guilt. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
