Drug Bust, Bandon
CCSO Release – Date / Time: March 3rd 2024 10:36 a.m.; Case Number(s): 2024-00005265; Classification: Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine / Unlawful Possession of Heroin / Unlawful Possession of Fentanyl / Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine / Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin; Location: Bandon Oregon; Suspect(s): Diana Gonzalezsolis (52) / Rogelia S. Espinosa (40); S.C.I.N.T. serves a search warrant at Bandon Motel, seizing almost a pound (358 grams) of methamphetamine, 66 grams of heroin, 21.32 grams of fentanyl, and $13,000 U.S. Currency. On March 3rd, 2024, the Coos County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Center received a 911 call of a man needing medical attention from an overdose at a motel in the City of Bandon. Sgt. M. Whitmer from the Bandon Police Department responded to render medical assistance and subsequently contacted the South Coast Interagency Narcotics Team (S.C.I.N.T.) Coos County Sheriff’s Office & (S.C.I.N.T.) Detective B. Davis responded to Bandon along with S.C.I.N.T. Director Sgt. Whittenburg and Sgt. Boswell also from the Sheriff’s Office. Detective B. Davis applied for and was granted a search warrant for the hotel room and the suspect’s car, a 2021 Polstar. During the search warrant, S.C.I.N.T seized nearly a pound (358 grams) of methamphetamine, 66 grams of heroin, 21 grams of fentanyl, and $13,000 of U.S. Currency. Diana Gonzalezsolis (52) and Rogelia S. Espinosa (40) were both arrested on the charges of Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Possession of Heroin, Unlawful Possession of Fentanyl, Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, and Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin. Both subjects were transported to the Coos County Jail, where they were booked and remain in custody. S.C.I.N.T also seized the vehicle.

Espinosa (40); Male and female arrested in Bandon on drug possession charges due to be released due to Oregon State Revised Statute 475.898 giving offenders Immunity from some drug-related offenses when calling for emergency medical assistance. Espinosa (40) will be released from the Coos County Jail. The charges of Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine, Unlawful Manufacture of Heroin, and Felon in Possession of a firearm arm will still be pursued and work their way through the judicial process. It is important to note that, due to aggressive hiring efforts by the Coos County Sheriff’s Office to open more jail space, these offenders would have been held in custody, if not for ORS 475.898. The narcotics, U.S. currency, and involved vehicle remain in Sheriff’s Office custody. The Sheriff’s Office and S.C.I.N.T. are undeterred and remain committed to taking these illegal substances and drug traffickers off our streets while working within the laws of the United States and the State of Oregon.
