A 48-year old Coos Co. male was found guilty of Murder in the Second Degree following a five-day jury trial at the Coos Co. Courthouse, Coquille, Tuesday. According to a news release from Coos Co. District Attorney R. Paul Frasier, Johnny Ray Bohannon was found guilty of the bludgeoning death of 47-year old Rebecca Reeves on June 8, 2022 at Coos Bay. “Murder in the Second Degree is a Measure 11 offense and is punishable with a mandatory sentence of life in prison with the defendant having to serve 25-years (every day) in prison before being eligible to apply of parole.” Bohannon’s sentencing is set for Wednesday morning, Nov. 8th, 11 a.m. before Judge Martin Stone.
