DEQ release, Sept. 2, 2023 – The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality issued an air quality advisory Saturday for Douglas County near Interstate-5 due to smoke from the Tyee Ridge Complex. DEQ expects the air quality advisory to last until at least Monday night, Sept. 5. DEQ and partner agencies will continue to monitor smoke in the area. DEQ expects intermittent smoke near current fires: Camp Creek fire, near Sandy. Lookout fire, near Blue River. Bedrock fire, near Lowell. Tyee Ridge Complex, near Sutherlin. Smith River Complex, in northern California south of Cave Junction. Smoke levels can change rapidly depending on weather.
