The first day of Fall Sports practice in Oregon was a tragic one on the Central Coast as a prep soccer player at Newport died after falling ill at practice Monday. It’s not known if the hot weather this week was a factor or not. The National Weather Service says the temperature at Newport Monday was in the low 60s. Sophomore Yael Felix-Trejo was taken to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital at Newport where he died.
