It is the Fourth of July, our Nation’s Birthday if you will. Established in 1776, the annual Summer event is a long weekend for some with camping, picnicking, and adventures for most. Today is also a federal holiday meaning financial institution, government offices and the Post Office will be closed. Some businesses will take the day off, while others will remain open for shopping as usual. Fireworks will be airborne over Coos Bay starting at dusk, 10 p.m.
